PETRONAS has further enhanced and strengthened its presence in Sudan by entering into the retail marketing business and expanding its involvement in the upstream sector, reinforcing its commitment to provide a mutually beneficial contribution to the development of Sudan’s petroleum industry.
The company yesterday opened its first service station in Sudan, officially marking its entry into the retail marketing business in the country following its acquisition of the entire retail assets of Mobil Oil Sudan Ltd earlier this year.
The ceremony, held in Khartoum in conjunction with the fourth anniversary celebrations of Sudan’s Petroleum Day, was officiated by Sudan’s Minister of Energy and Mining Dr Awad Ahmed El-Jaz. Also present was PETRONAS President and Chief Executive Officer Tan Sri Dato Sri Mohd Hassan Marican. PETRONAS wishes to inform that the Sky Bridge of the PETRONAS Twin Towers will be closed to public visits from 4 to 30 August 2003.
This temporary closure will allow PETRONAS to carry out maintenance and upgrading works on the Sky Bridge service facilities. Continue Reading

The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) today announced that the second batch of 75 units of the road version of the PETRONAS FP1 – the first Malaysian superbike – has passed homologation inspection.
This second batch of the superbikes were assembled by PETRONAS using the resources and facilities of the Malaysian motorcycle manufacturer, MODENAS, under an agreement signed between PETRONAS and the manufacturer on 28 April 2003 in Kuala Lumpur.
