PETRONAS APPOINTS NAZA BIKERS DREAM SOLE MALAYSIAN DISTRIBUTOR FOR ITS FP1 SUPERBIKE
PETRONAS has appointed NAZA Bikers Dream Sdn Bhd as the sole distributor for its limited edition, race-bred PETRONAS FP1 superbike in Malaysia. Enthusiasts will now be able to view the exclusive machines, available in Panache Green, Exotic Black and Misty Grey at the NAZA Bikers Dream showroom located at Lot 1, Jalan 51A/221, Petaling Jaya.The machines will be made available to the international markets later when the appointment of the distributor is finalised. Only 100 out of the 150 units of the road version of the PETRONAS FP1 manufactured will be available for sale worldwide, enhancing the exclusivity of the machines, and the balance will be used for further development, promotions and racing.
Developed by Malaysian engineers using Formula One-derived technology, the PETRONAS FP1 offers advanced and efficient features such as gear driven dual overhead camshafts and forward facing large throttle bodies and strong but light weight internal engine parts. These and other race-developed features allow for superb engine performance and reliability. The 900cc in-line 3-cylinder four stroke FP1 engine pumps out a class leading power and torque delivering top speed in excess of 270 km/h. (more…)

PETRONAS AWARDS TWO ULTRA-DEEPWATER BLOCKS
PETRONAS today awarded two Production Sharing Contracts to Shell and PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd for the ultra-deepwater Blocks ND6 and ND7 offshore the east coast of Sabah.The two blocks are situated in water depths ranging from 200 to 4,000 metres in the Tarakan Basin, between 100km and 180km southeast of Tawau. Block ND6 covers an area of about 8,700 square km, while Block ND7 has an area of about 17,000 square km.
Under the terms of the PSCs, Shell and PETRONAS Carigali will jointly operate both blocks. Shell has 50 per cent working interests; split between Sabah Shell Petroleum Co Ltd (40 per cent) and Shell Sabah Selatan Sdn Bhd (10 per cent). PETRONAS Carigali, the exploration and production arm of PETRONAS, owns the remaining 50 per cent interests.For Block ND6, the partners will acquire and process 1,700 square km of new 3D seismic data and drill three wildcat wells. PETRONAS-SHELL JOINT VENTURE MAKES THIRD SUCCESSIVE DISCOVERY
CS Mutiara Petroleum Sdn Bhd, a 50:50 joint venture company between PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd and Shell Exploration and Production Malaysia B.V., has made another significant gas discovery in Block PM301, off the northeast coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
The Bunga Anggerik-1 well, spudded on 21 November 2004, was drilled to a total depth of 1,527 metres and encountered four gas zones. Further technical evaluation is required to determine the reserves.
Bunga Anggerik-1 is the third discovery in Block PM301, following the recent exploration successes of Bunga Kamelia and Bunga Zetung. The latest discovery is located about six kilometres east of the Bunga Zetung gas field discovered in July 2004.
CS Mutiara Petroleum is currently embarking on an appraisal campaign and studies for the development of these three discoveries.
CS Mutiara Petroleum was formed in July 2001 and operates Blocks PM301 and PM302, both located off the northeast coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
