PETRONAS’ subsidiary, Asean LNG Trading Company Ltd (ALTCO) yesterday took delivery of the first LNG cargo from PETRONAS’ joint venture Egyptian LNG (ELNG) project in Idku, Egypt.The delivery was ELNG’s first cargo commitment under the project’s Train 1 early completion sale and purchase agreement signed with ALTCO. Under the agreement, ALTCO will lift approximately three cargoes of LNG throughout the plant’s early completion period.
The LNG was loaded yesterday into Puteri Zamrud Satu, an LNG vessel owned by PETRONAS’ subsidiary Malaysia International Shipping Corporation Bhd. Continue Reading

PETRONAS, Malaysia’s national petroleum corporation, together with joint-venture partners Eni Pakistan Ltd and Government Holdings Private Ltd, yesterday officially opened its Rehmat Gas Plant in Ghotki in Pakistan’s Sindh Province.The plant’s inauguration ceremony was officiated by The Honourable Mr Mir Muhammad Naseer Mengal, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resources, on behalf of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, His Excellency Mr Shaukat Aziz. Other guests who graced the occasion included high-ranking officials from Pakistan’s federal and provincial governments.
PETRONAS’ Vice President Mr Abdullah Karim, together with other PETRONAS’ senior officials, were also present. Continue Reading

PETRONAS, through its subsidiary PC Muriah Ltd, yesterday signed a gas sales agreement (GSA) with Indonesia’s state owned electricity company, Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).Under the terms of the GSA, PETRONAS will supply up to 145 million standard cubic feet of gas per day to PLN’s Tambak Lorok Power Plant in the Central Java province for a period of up to 10 years.
The gas will be supplied from the Kepodang field within the PETRONAS-operated Muriah Block, located about 180 km from Semarang. The field is fully appraised and ready to be developed. Continue Reading
