PETRONAS TO SUPPLY GAS TO KEPPEL ENERGY

Petronas Offshore Oil & Gas Latest NewsPETRONAS today formalised a Gas Sales Agreement (GSA) with Keppel Energy Pte Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Corporation of Singapore for the supply of up to 120 billion British Thermal Unit (Bbtu) per day or up to 115 million standard cubic feet (mmscf) per day of gas for a period of up to 18 years, commencing from middle of next year. Under the GSA, PETRONAS will supply the gas to Keppel Energy via a new five-kilometre pipeline that will link PETRONAS’ Peninsular Gas Utilisation (PGU) Pipeline to the Singapore Gas Transmission System. This pipeline will run from the PGU’s metering station at Plentong in Johor to a receiving facility in Singapore. PETRONAS Gas Bhd, a subsidiary of PETRONAS and Keppel Gas, a subsidiary of Keppel Energy, will jointly build this new pipeline that is scheduled for completion by middle of next year. (more…)

PETRONAS PLANS TO PARTNER WITH BMW

Petronas Offshore Oil & Gas Latest NewsPETRONAS plans to continue participating in Formula One by extending its long-standing partnership arrangement with Sauber to the new BMW managed team starting in 2006. PETRONAS will be discussing with representatives of the new team on its potential participation soon.It was announced yesterday that BMW is acquiring majority interest in Sauber Holding, the company that operates the SAUBER PETRONAS team in the FIA Formula One World Championship. PETRONAS has been kept well informed of the progress of discussions between BMW and Sauber officials and has been supportive towards the move as it offers the team the possibility of improving their sporting performance. PETRONAS AWARDS BLOCK PM323 TO NEWFIELD AND PETRONAS CARIGALI

Petronas Offshore Oil & Gas Latest NewsPETRONAS today awarded Block PM323 offshore Peninsular Malaysia to Newfield Peninsular Malaysia Inc. and PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd. The Production Sharing Contract (PSC) for the Block was signed at the PETRONAS headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.Under the terms of the PSC, Newfield Peninsular Malaysia will be the operator of the Block with a 60 per cent working interest. PETRONAS Carigali, the exploration and production arm of PETRONAS, owns the remaining 40 per cent.

Block PM323, which covers an area of about 1,369 square kilometres, is located in water depths of about 70 metres in the Malay Basin, approximately 300 kilometres offshore Terengganu. (more…)

PETRONAS DISCOVERS GAS OFFSHORE SARAWAK

Petronas Offshore Oil & Gas Latest NewsPETRONAS is pleased to announce a new gas discovery through its Kanowit-1 exploration well in Block SK306 offshore Sarawak. The well is about 180 kilometres northwest of Bintulu in a water depth of 80 metres. It was spudded on 25 October 2005 and reached a final depth of 2,029 metres below sea level.The Kanowit-1 well, drilled by semi-submersible rig Naga-1, encountered a very significant gas accumulation in a Miocene limestone reservoir.

PETRONAS conducted two production tests, which resulted in a cumulative flow rate of 72 million standard cubic feet of gas per day and 3,400 barrels of condensate per day, with 5% to 10% carbon dioxide. PETRONAS believes this pinnacle reef has potential for development. (more…)

PETRONAS SIGNS GAS SALES AGREEMENT WITH PT PERUSAHAAN GAS NEGARA

Petronas Offshore Oil & Gas Latest NewsPETRONAS, through its subsidiary PC Madura Ltd, today signed a Gas Sales Agreement for the supply of gas to PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) from its 25 per cent-owned Maleo field in Indonesia.The Maleo gas field is located within the Madura Offshore PSC area, southeast of Madura Island in the Madura Strait, East Java.

PC Madura Ltd and Santos (Madura Offshore) Pty Ltd, the operator of Madura Offshore PSC, will supply up to 110 million standard cubic feet per day of gas for a period of between 8 and 12 years, which is the expected production life of the field. (more…)
