PETRONAS ANNOUNCES SHAREHOLDING IN CENTRICA PLC
PICL, the international division of PETRONAS, the Malaysian national oil and gas company, announces that it has acquired about 4% shareholding in Centrica PLC.PETRONAS views this shareholding as a long term supportive investment in the UK’s leading energy retailing company and hopes to build a positive and constructive relationship with Centrica’s Management in the future.
PETRONAS is comfortable with its level of shareholding in Centrica and currently has no intention of purchasing more shares in Centrica PLC. (more…)
PETRONAS SPONSORS RIDING FOR LIFE 2005
PETRONAS is sponsoring Riding For Life 2005 (RFL), a cycling adventure jointly organised by Malaysian AIDS Foundation (MAF) and Action for AIDS Singapore (AFA) to raise funds for and awareness of HIV/AIDS.As a sponsor, PETRONAS is contributing RM37,000 in terms of petrol vouchers and participation of its own 10 cyclists in RFL. The petrol will be used by support vehicles accompanying all 54 cyclists in RFL.
PETRONAS’ contribution was handed over to the Chairman of MAF, Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir by Encik Ibrahim Marsidi, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Dagangan Bhd, during the RFL2005’s flag off ceremony held at Menara Kuala Lumpur today. PETRONAS SIGNS LOI TO COMMERCIALISE ITS AUTOMOTIVE ENGINE IN CHINA
PETRONAS today signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with China’s carmaker Nanjing Automobile Corporation (NAC) and Brilliant Culture Group Limited (BCG) towards the use of its PETRONAS E01 engine technology for the carmaker’s vehicle line-up.Under the LOI, PETRONAS and NAC will assess the engine technology’s suitability and develop engine specifications to suit the NAC’s recommended platforms. BCG is expected to co-invest with NAC in the manufacturing facilities for the engine.
NAC, a state-owned corporation of China, is one of the most important automotive industrial enterprises in the country with more than 30 subsidiaries and 400 affiliated companies. It is headquartered in Nanjing City in Jiangsu Province. BCG, on the other hand, is a consulting firm whose expertise includes strategic planning, marketing and government relations.
