MLNG TIGA SIGNS AGREEMENT TO SELL ADDITIONAL LNG TO KOREA GAS CORPORATION
Malaysia LNG Tiga Sdn Bhd (MLNG Tiga), a subsidiary of PETRONAS, today signed an agreement with Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) to supply up to 2.82 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to KOGAS commencing from October 2004 to April 2008. The first cargo of 60,000 tonnes was delivered to KOGAS on 8 October.
The new volume is an addition to the existing two million tonnes per annum (mtpa), seven-year supply agreement signed between the two parties in 2003. (more…)

PETRONAS AND PARTNERS OPEN REHMAT GAS PLANT
PETRONAS, Malaysia’s national petroleum corporation, together with joint-venture partners Eni Pakistan Ltd and Government Holdings Private Ltd, yesterday officially opened its Rehmat Gas Plant in Ghotki in Pakistan’s Sindh Province.
The plant’s inauguration ceremony was officiated by The Honourable Mr Mir Muhammad Naseer Mengal, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resources, on behalf of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, His Excellency Mr Shaukat Aziz. Other guests who graced the occasion included high-ranking officials from Pakistan’s federal and provincial governments. (more…)

PETRONAS-SHELL JOINT VENTURE STRIKES GAS AGAIN
CS Mutiara Petroleum Sdn Bhd (CS Mutiara), a 50:50 joint venture company between PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd and Shell Exploration and Production Malaysia BV has made another gas discovery in Block PM302 off the northeast coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
The Bunga Dahlia Channel-1 exploration well, located in a water depth of 67 metres, was spudded on 18 February 2006. The well was drilled to a total depth of 2,260 metres and encountered multiple gas zones. Further technical evaluation is required to determine the volumes of the discovery. (more…)
